2008 I.s.g.a.

Post by Rob Parker »

Hello to you all,
I have just returned from the great show in StL..
I want to thank, and commend Scotty and Mary and family, and their staff and volunteers that developed and produced this show, for the superb production.
It was a memorable production and required much work ,energy, time and expense to bring it to the many fans.
This was my first year to be one of the Emcees,to help with that duty.
My thanks to my long time friend Stoney Stonecipher for his help, and guidence..he made my job much easier..and I hope more effective.
Also to the band/staff musicians, for their support..( I choose to refer to them as band or staff musicians,) rather than the widely used term..'sidemen'.They are 'sidemen' but to me that reference does not adequately describe them. They are all stars in their own right, and a very talented and dedicated group of individuals.Thank you guys so very much...
And a very big and sincere thanks to Mr Scotty, for having faith ,confidence, and trust in me, to ask me to help with this job.I am very grateful for that invitation. And to the fans that attended, my thanks to you for your support, and for the many, many favorable comments you gave to me..
I had a great time, and although I got tired, I did not get " tired of it "..and my pledge to all of you, is that I will strive always to do the very best job that I am capable of doing..I owe all of you that, and I also owe that to myself..
And a large bucket of thanks for Mr Don Lanier and his Pearl Sound group for their hard work to make us all sound better..
And of course as always, a great big round of applause for my good friend Mr Bill Ferguson and his 'stable' of sound techs, and musicians ,from Georgia for their hard work.
Kudos to you all.....
Thanks again to all of you, and I will see you next year..
Peace and love, good health and good fortune to you all...
RP...'come on in'...

Great job, Rob! I enjoyed all the good humor and also anecdotal stories about many of the players. You fit right in with Stoney's MO.
