| He is totally incredible, indeed, and a really nice guy. I missed a lunch date with him while I was in Kolkata a couple years back due to intense on-the-sidewalk barfing, sadly. |

I have "Calcutta Slide Guitar - 3" and "Mahima" (and also John McLaughlin's "Remember Shakti" where is was guest)
i din't appreciated a lot "Mahima"; too much "fusion" .. Personally I prefer alap slow-motion in classic "indian" culture tradition ...

I have volume 3 as well. Tremendous cd. I agree that his playing is more enjoyable in the "proper" context.

He played here in L.A. recently. He is an amazing player. I noticed he uses a very thin bar. From where I was sitting it looked like it was only about 1/4 inch in diameter. It also looked like he only plays with the tip and never lays the bar down across the strings the way we do.
