| How about that Buck Reid? What a killer performance he gave us at St. Louis along with the most beautiful tone of the show. His tone reminded me of the Big E. Excellent job Buck. |

| You would have to travel a long long way to hear a better tone and to find a more helpful steel player and, I might add, a gentleman to boot.Buck's CD is still the only one played in my car to give me inspiration on the way to every gig, excellent stuff. |

What a pleasure to hear Buck play, once an all-jazz set in the Jazz Room and then again Saturday night on the Main Stage. This man is a prodigious talent.

I've never had a chance to hear most of these guys,so I'm not familiar with their playing. I heard Buck yesterday and boy is he good. It sure inspired me to practice more. Jim, I've met you a few times at different shows, when I was living up north, and I have most of your cd's. You inspire everybody yourself. Great job. Larry

I've had the opportunity to hear Buck numerous times at a steel show setting. I have to say, his approach and voicings are without question, a defining signature for his choice of music played. I will respectfully requested that A Work in Progress be complemented with a Work In Progress II.  |

| I totally agree with my friend Gary, another one of the best I've ever heard. We went to see Lyle's show a while back, got there early, and Buck's red psg wasn't on the stage. I became worried so I went backstage and security got Buck to come out and say hello, great guy, then he left to take it out. If he hadn't been there, we would have left. I would like to add that if you ever get a chance to watch and listen to Gary Lee Gimble, you're in for a heck of a treat. |

| I, too, had the pleasure of hearing Buck play live at one of the steel shows Gary referenced, where Buck shared the stage with John Hughey, Buddy Charleton, Jimmie Crawford, and Herby Wallace for some awesome jamming, and he was right at home in that company. |

Thanks alot to one and all! As I stated in another thread, to be offered my own time slot on Scotty's show is a dream I've had for 30+ years and I had a blast! Thank you again Scotty for making one of my dreams a reality. I enjoyed meeting many new friends and hanging out with all the other great musicians. I know alot of folks including me, missed seeing
some our more well established heroes and of course, it could never be the same without them. Their talent and personalities can never be duplicated or replaced. It's the Grand Ole Opry of the Steel Guitar community and their presence is felt even when their not there. Thanks again to everyone for there kind comments and I hope the opportunity comes again.

Thanks for the link to Buck's website. The "instant results" were very convincing.  I listened to the few sound clips available and wow, that sounds good! I just ordered his CD (of course).

I picked up Buck's new Cd at Bobbe Seymour's in July and I have to say it is one of the best I have heard! The man is truly a world class player!!

I received the CD I had ordered from Buck and WOW is that GOOD  !
This is excellent playing, tremendous tone and great song choice. In some of the jazz songs his style reminds me of Doug Jernigan (I am a big fan of Diggin' Doug too). This CD is becoming a favourite of mine.
I am just curious to learn how he gets his tone, like in Scrapple From The Apple f.i. ... 
So, Buck, if you can spare a few minutes...PLEASE!
Oh, and by the way, this CD is already from 2005 (why am I so late?) .... time for a new one!!
