I have an "El Cheapo" resonator guitar which I'm trying to learn and have tuned to G. I tried to change the tuning to C6 to try some Hawaaian things but found trying to bring it up to C created a lot of preasure on the bridge which frightened me I thought it may damage the guitar so I left it in G. Can some one help me out here as I don't want to damage the instrument.
Thanks Geoff.

Geoff,
Why not try G6..only have to change one string and you still get that "swingy" kind of tone? Low to high:
G,B,E,G,B,D. I use it sometimes when I want amore western swing type of tone.
Give it a try Very Happy

Are you changing your strings to lighter gauge ones, or tuning up the same strings you're using for G?
