One of Country Musics true all time greatest voices...Its hard to figure why the CMA has not inducted him into the HOF...Shame on those that represent the Hall and Country Music..

Gene Watson is one of the greatest country singers of all time. Gene never did play the "political game". But that does not alter the fact that he should be in the CMHF.Jody.

Gene Watson... One of the few entertainers I consider a singers' singer. Regretfully the Nashville machine has pretty much ignored him :(

Mullen G2, Peavey Nashville 112 & 1000 and a few gadgets. Only a fellow musician would understand the need for more goodies.

Gene Watson performed at out Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Kick-Off Dance a few years ago in the Houston Astrodome. He went first for about an hour, and Cross Canadian Ragweed performed after him. No disrespect to CCR, but I sure wish Gene could have played all night! Great music! Wonderful singer! and I have to agree with my friend Jody Sanders, he should be in the CMHOF!

Gene is still with us and in fact David Church and I will be working with him in September somewhere around the Houston area. It will be good to see Corky again.

If they can turn "The Possum" away there is little hope for the others.

A few years ago Gene appeared on the Ricky Skaggs show at the Ryman. As I understand it he was the only one to get a standing ovation as he was walking out onto the stage. He hadn't even begun to sing and the audience was up and cheering.
I've seen Gene's show a few times when Tiny was on steel and more recently Corky. He started out great with "Love in a Hot Afternoon" and just gets better with age.
One of his newer songs " Let me be the first to go"
tears me up. It really puts thing in perspective.

Gene's entire new album, In A Perfect World, is still pure Gene Watson.
