Saw a clip of Porter Wagoner on one of the Opry Legends DVDs (great series, BTW  ), with some shots of Don's steel. Does anybody have any info about this instrument? Single neck guitar that he played standing, with two pedals on the far left side of the instrument (seen from the front side). Interesting guitar! Looks like he also did not use a volume pedal...

| Walter, I have seen the Porter Show where the pedals were first at the changer end, then shortly thereafter, they were at the keyhead end! I read somewhere that Don's guitar was the first guitar. |

| Check the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville. I believe they have his ShoBud on display. |

We sold our first Sho-Bud, an eight string single neck, to Don Warden, steel guitarist for Porter Waggoner. Don sang in Porter's trio, so his pedal rods were lengthened to allow him to play and sing from a standing position. Among the first double neck players were Sonny Curtis, Ben Keith, George Edwards, Jimmy Day, and myself.

I believe I saw that steel guitar at the Acuff Museum next door to the new Opry House many years ago, like around 1979.
