Every once in a while a CD comes along that is just jaw-droppingly amazing. Mike Fried has done it! He has the touch, tone and sound.

Just listen! Cool

Sophisticated Hula - Mike Fried

Go to his website NOW and buy this disk.

Here's Mike:
Quote:
Title: "Sophisticated Hula"
Instruments used: early 1950's Bronson Model 52 Melody King lap steel (Rickenbacker BD6), tuned F#9 (F#-A#-E-G#-C#-E, low-high); 1960's Kamaka "pineapple" soprano 'ukulele, C reentrant tuning: early 1950's Gibson ES-135 electric archtop guitar; Roland MicroCube amp, "JC Clean" mode.
Track credits: Mike Fried - steel guitar, 'ukulele; Mike Solle - rhythm guitar; Band-in-a-box backing tracks; Roland Virtual Sound Canvas and Plugsound software synth instruments; MXL 990 condenser microphone into a Digidesign MBox and Nuendo.

Mike is also building "boutique" steel guitar amps. I'm sure these sound as great as they look.

Thanks to all of you for your recent orders! I sent some out on Saturday and will send out more tomorrow. Chris, thanks so much for the (future) airplay - the CD info/ordering URL was posted by Gerald at the top of this thread (as well as by myself in other announcement threads), but I'll repeat it here:
