It might help a little, since the diameter is larger. In the end, though, you'll probably have to improve your technique as well. Make sure you're not covering more strings than necessary, as the more strings the bar is on, the more down-pressure that is required for a clean sound.

| Jeff Newman always used an .012 string and preched that they lasted longer and had a fatter sound. I used .012 for years before going to the Jaquire .0115. and never had any problem that my ears were aware of. |

| Thanks guys, I'll try both guages. Because on either side of the roller sits a .015 and a.014 the .011 sits way down in the roller bed. How can I raise it to the same level? That should solve the problem. |

I've been using a .012 for the last couple of years. I don't think I've broken them any more than .011s, and I think .012 sounds better. I don't know about buzz--that probably varies more with technique than with string gauge. What Donny says about that is right. Also, it takes more pressure at the first fret because the strings are stiffer there.
Haven't tried .0115. |

Search the forum - there are one or two guys who make rollers specific to your string gages for that very reason.
I would doubt one-thousandth would kill a first-fret buzz, though. It sounds like a roller issue to me.

| I love the .012. I don't think it'll solve your buzzing problem...the only way I ever did it was pressing down harder (especially on the first fret). |
