Top fiddle player now looking for full time work.

Post by Scott Kamp »

David Varnado, fiddle player for Neal McCoy, is now looking for full time work. Neal is going to cut back on his touring, and David is now looking for full time work. He lives in the Houston, Texas area( Nederland, Tx. to be exact ) and would prefer to play for a Texas artist, however he will consider all offers. He has played on the road full time with artist such as Loretta Lynn, Johnny Paycheck, Chris LeDoux, Neal McCoy, etc; and has sat in at times for country music's top country artist. He has also played for top cajun artist also. He has also played at places such as, "The Grand Ole Opry", "The Jay Leno Show", and several other popular shows while playing for these artist. He has won many fiddle contest over the years, and plays all styles on the fiddle, along with mandolin, and acoustic guitar. David also can sound like several fiddlers (2,3,4, up to a full orchestra) at once, as he invented his own style of harmonizer, and no won else can duplicate this, as Johnny Paycheck told him not to sell this invention to anyone else, because it was his own sound. David is the only one that has this type of harmonizer. David and myself also have DVD'S of his playing with some of these artist, that either of us can mail out to anyone interested. If you hear of anyone looking for a top musician, who is used to traveling for a living, please call David at 409-344-1821 or 409-724 7564 or you can call me (Scott Kamp) at 409-626-2761.Thank's fellow musicians for any info and help. ---Scott Kamp

David has landed a great job, with great pay. Neal is going another direction with his music, and is laying off his entire band. Thanks, Jody Sanders, for your support, and kind comments concerning David. Hope to see you at some of the steel shows and conventions, down the road. We now live in Tennessee, but will visit family in Houston occassionally. We'll try to come to your club meetings when we are in town. ---Scott
