Hi there,
I am new to the pedal steel, and have recently started taking it around town for rehearsals and gigs. I live in the city and don't have car... so I am wondering if there is any advice for a type of small hand truck that is lightweight and strong and efficient for walking with, as well as carrying up and down stairs. (I have a single neck guitar)
Any help would be much appreciated!!
Thanks |

Jade,As a guy who grew up in Queens I understand.I got a Flite-Lite-C525 folding hand cart that works well for my Desert Rose double neck 75Lbs. with case.I got mine at a thrift store for six bucks,I'm sure that you can get a good deal in the City at one of those luggage store close to Manny's http://www.luggage.com/Remin-Kart-a-Bag-FLC525-KN1000.html
you can see what it looks like here, but the price looks high to me,It's built really well,This should help,Stu _________________ Steeltronics Z-pickup,Desert Rose S-10 4+5,Desert Rose Keyless S-10 3+5... Thank you so much for your help Stu, I checked out the links and your FliteLite looks to be the lightest in weight, which is good. The wheels look small, but if you are happy with it for your double neck, it must be well built! Their 525 on the site looks pretty much the same as your C525 ( I didn't see the C525 on the site)...So I'll probably go with that one.
By the way, what is the steel playing scene like in Alaska (I have always wanted to go there) |

Jade,The Steel scene is pretty small up here...Maybe about 6 of us?I notice that some younger people are getting interested in Steel Guitar,Alt Country seems to be what they listen to.It sure is a beautiful place when the sun comes out .On the wheel thing bigger wheels are easier on stairs,My aunt lived in a building that was a 5 story walk up near Delancey Street, actually there was an elevator but it never worked,Stu _________________ Steeltronics Z-pickup,Desert Rose S-10 4+5,Desert Rose Keyless S-10 3+5... Jade, I make light weight cases with wheels and a spring a handle for easy transport. You just roll the case around like luggage. Can go up or down stairs. My design was meant specificly for your application. You can see them at www.hattoncases.com |

Thank you for your reply to my post, I would like to check out your cases but could not get onto your site...can I see them anywhere else? This is a pedal steel case with wheels, not a luggage roller correct? Sounds interesting |
