Strings on Zum

Post by James Gennrich »

I have a Zum S10 4x6 and use Stainless strings I get from Bruce. He sells them at a good price, and they last longer then any strings I have used in the past.

FWIW I don't know what was on my guitar when I bought it, but I wanted something brighter and put on GHS Stainless and WOW! New guitar. Seemed to double my volume too. Bright and clear. Greg

I used to buy a lot of strings from Bruce. They were stainless. I never saw anything else listed on the order form. I can only assume that if SS is what he was selling, then that would be what he installed and recommended. I have no idea who built them, but they were first quality windings.

The only time I use stainless is when I use GHS Brite Flats on a Tele or Jag. Otherwise, I use nickel wound. Stainless round-wounds, to me, have a harsh top end I don't care for.
