| I just listened to some short iTunes clips from Willie Nelson's '72 album "The Willie Way" which I'm about to buy. Sounds like Weldon Myrick. Correct? I love his playing from that era. BTW, There's great cut called "You Left A Long, Long Time Ago" unavailable unless you buy the whole "Willie Way" record. But it is available as a single cut in a record called "Wanted! The Outlaws". |

| Peter, I searched for a year for that album. It has a cut of A Moment Isn't Very Long. This particular cut has a nice swing feel with a great steel intro. I was going to guess that Jimmy Day was on it since it is an early 60's album. But then again after listening to it I hear a little Weldon also. Either way to me it is a keeper. If you are into old Willie stuff, also check out the Texas In My Soul album. |

Great intro "A Moment Isn't Very Long"! That's classic Weldon Myrick. I'll bet the farm.
Any other recommendations from anyone for Weldon cuts from this time? |

I downloaded "A Moment Isn't Very Long" from Napster after I read this and I agree that's a great song. Any idea who wrote it? A Google search turns up references to Willie and Faron Young, but so far I haven't been able to locate a Faron Young version. Any guesses as to who played nylon string guitar on Willie's version. Sounds like Grady Martin to me.
