Tilley-I tried to add comment on you Guest book , copied the code and it wouldnt take, so you know how I feel anyway.

I just downloaded 6 songs on your site, Raining here today, so had some spare time.

Mike Archer-Mansion on te Hill. Nice playing. good clean sound on that Classic.

Roy Ayres-Keeper of the stars. You old pro did it again.

Charles Powell-Crazy Arms.Smooth playing on a good old standard.

Tony Prior-Silver Wings-Very nice on one of our favorites.

Vernon Hester-Fool such as I. Very good, nice chords.

John McGlothlin-Cavatina. Good tone and clean sound on that non-pedal. Very smooth.

I want to thank Charles Tilley for providing this website so Forum members can play their steel and be heard around the world. This is an Important service for members of the Steel Guitar Forum. Thanks again....al.:):):)

Posting in the guest book

Some of you have noted problems posting the guest book. I just went there myself and it gave me no problem at all. I don't know why you had problems AL.

Tilley, I copied the code exactly several times, which says was required, and I got Error of submission and do over. So after several tries over a period of several days. I quit and thought I would tell you, so you could check it out. Thanks...al.:):)

My song for June"Shadow of your Smile"-

Post by Al Marcus »

Our Good friend Charles Tilley has put my new song for June on his Website. Thanks again , Tilley.

This was from a cassette I made on a $79, combination Radio-tape recorder. I made this for a friend in Florida, a few years ago, that he wanted to learn to play, I made Tab for it and played it slow so he could follow it easily. The clutches were getting worn out after 15 to 20 years. So the sound isnt too good, a little distorded. Clik on the Blue, and I tell which pedals and knees I use for it.

This feature of Tilley's Website is a very good feature of the Steel Guitar Forum for the members use. I wish more players would take advantage of it. Music is what it is all about. As I have been appointed Chairman of the Board by my Peers. I wish to thank Charles Tilley Personally ,and for all the members, for his work in presenting this part of the Forum for them. I am sure we all appreciate it....al.:):):)

Missing questions

Post by Charles Tilley »

Hey guys, I stay quite busy here and don't really visit the forum that much so I miss some comments and questions that I should see.

It would be most appreciative if your questions and comments are sent to me at ttexastilley@sbcglobal.net.

That way, I can get them and answer them. I apologize to you that have posted questions and not received my answer. This way you will.

Downloaded

Post by Al Marcus »

In the past few days, I downloaded some players song on Tilley's Website.

Shorty Smith-Together again.

Charles Tilley-I won't mention it again.

Ray Montee-Sweet Lorena.

Jim Harper-Pedal to the Metal.

Gene Jones-Boot Hill drive. This is a Professional recording and Gene does it very well, like an old pro should.

Every one of them sounded great, nice tone, and sounded like very good recordings to me. A lot better sounding than any of mine. I probably should get better recording equipment. Guys, maybe you can tell me what recoders you are using,etc....al.:):)

Al, I recorded that song on this assortment of miscellaneous gear. Nothing fancy for sure...the primary recorder was a little Tascam Portastudio 414.

John-Thanks for your kind comments, you are too kind.I had a chance to download your new song, 6-28-08 "you are so beautiful". I was highly impressed with your touch and tone and playing on that Non Pedal, what tuning did you have on the guitar. It sounded good. How are you doing these days?..al.:):)

Hi Al. I used the standard C6th tuning on that song with just the basic pedals 5, 6 and 7. I still use the G on the top string instead of the D. My friend Susan Trujillo iis getting another song ready to send in...she is playing a double 8 non pedal guitar. Her tunings are E13 on the front neck and C6 on the back. You take care and keep up the great work.

John-You did such smooth job on that song that I thought you did it without pedals. But I was on fence about it a couple of times.I'll try to get the time to download Susan's new song..al.:):)

Keyboard

Post by Vernon Hester »

Al,
Sometime I use it to make tracks as it has its own memory. But, Most of time I send the Midi output from my computer into the Yamaha.B_I_B,Karaoke,etc and massage it, bring it back into the mixer and play live
(The old school)Steel with the track.Yamaha has a 32 Polynote soundcard, makes the track sound real full.
Want some trks be gald to send you some,Let me know the tune and Key you want them in.
Best
