Warren Nielsen honoured at Aussie Steel Convention
Hi all, I have just returned from guesting at the Aussie steel show at Brisbane and wanted to share this great bit of news with you all --- a lot of you will have met this lovely Aussie bloke at Dallas or St Louis so it is really nice to see him honoured in this way by his peers in Australia.
=================
Sunday 22nd of June 2008 was the Brisbane Steel Guitar Festival incorporating the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame for Australia.
It was exciting to see the Late Norm Bodkin be inducted into the Hall of Fame for a life time of playing and promoting Pedal Steel, setting up Steel Guitar Australia back in the 80’s.
Norm is the only Steel guitarist to win Instrumental of the year CMAA.
The award was picked up by his widow Anita and his sister Jan.
The second inductee was Warren Nielsen.
Warren received a great ovation and was completely knocked out on his induction into the Hall of Fame.
Warren is well known in the Steel guitar circles through his many visits and many friends in the USA.
Warren then took the stage for a set and played like there was no tomorrow
Congratulations to both The Late Norm Bodkin and our beloved Warren.
