Mike, You have such a nice guitar!!! Hats off to Kevin and Jerry for reproducing such an important instrument for more people to enjoy!!!
Now all we need are ZB T-Shirts! I'm tired of wearing a Sho-Bud shirt 'cuz no ZB shirts exist. |

This one is heading for Norway to our forumite friend, Steinar Schroder. Full refurb, blasck finish by Marv Fluger and I isntalled adjustable knee levers from Billy Knowles. D-11, 8 floors and 6 knees. #0219 and originally had the newest style decals on it. We changed them to CZB-Phoenix to look like Tom Brumley's black D-11. Sounds and plays very well. Have an SD-12 and a vintage D-10 just about ready to ship out. Pay no attention to the mess in my kitchen!!! LOL

Wow Greg! You have a work of art there!  I remember you telling me about this guitar. Steinar will be very happy.

| That is a prime example of Greg Jones oustanding work. Restoring these instruments to better than new condition. When people start finding out how incredible these guitars sound there is going to be stampede. My hats off to all of you who own one. I just recorded today live on a T.V. show with one and I got outstanding tone compliments from the other musicians. |

Hallo Marty
Here is the tee shirt I had when I was a rep for
ZB Guitars UK back in the '70's,this is a reproduction as the original (which I still have)has
turned a puce -coloured yellow and not allowed by my
wife to be worn.The first photo is the front of the
tee shirt and the second is the back of the shirt, I
wear this with pride as often as possible (if the wife deems it clean !

Hey guys,There is a woman who lives about an hour away from me who was a friend of Zane Becks,She told me a few years ago that she has one of the first ZB's I just emailed her about going out to her house and taking some photos,I will do that in the next few days hopefully,and post.

OK Richard, now that you have "outed" Henry I have to fess up that I too am a beneficiary of Mr. Nagle's generosity. Also, I seem to be channelling someone who has a much better vocabulary than I was aware I posessed. I plan to wear my ZB shirt while fishing this weekend (to Henry, the vegan, I apologize, and promise to "liberate" all but one redfish, or snook) Lastly, to Richard...very beautiful and soulful playing and did I remember to tell you that you have one great shirt there? And really lastly, no I really mean it this time, what with the wonderful technology of editing and whatnot, a great big ZB hello to Frank and Larry. I realize that this entry actually preceeds Larry saying hello to me, but I actually answered it afterwards...and no, I do not have a time machine. Hey Frank, want to swap houses for a week, or two? Marci and I could visit Greece and explore about 5000 years of culture, sail the Greek isles, be introduced to a civilization full of friendly people and you could...I dunno...come here...and visit Disney World...I guess.

Just an update, I should have two ZB pickups back from a rewind here pretty soon, I'm having an anonymous person do the job, waiting to get them back for a little bit now, but will let you know how they turn out. Both are triple coil units, too. Yeah, I'm kinda excited.

Hello guys,
I have a question that may seem strange, but then, I am one strange guy. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone here on the Forum, or any of you lurkers out there, bought that orange ZB that Mr. William Knowles so beautifully restored? I had a couple of opportunities to buy that one and missed out on it twice. Once because I behaved stupidly and the second time on account of I was just plain stoopid. If anyone has it, I'd like to get in touch with you.

Billy, that orange ZB was about the prettiest ZB I have ever seen. You really outdid yourself on that one. I dream about it occasionally. I saw it when it was on ebay and was in communication with the gentleman, but got cheap at the wrong time. If you are able...I'd like to get old #0093 up to NC to have a tuneup. I figure that it's been about 5-6 years (and a few owners) since you did your magic on it and a couple of the knee levers are a little stiff. It is still the best sounding steel that I have ever had the pleasure of playing. I may be going up to Hattaras for some fishing one of these days and was hoping that I might be able to drop it off at your shop.
And yes, Frank does indeed have some great ZB memorabilia and he is a very nice guy to boot.

Billy, I'd take you out for the best lunch and dinner and breakfast (I figured that it would take me several meals on account of I'm a really slow learner) that you have in that part of North Carolina in return for any lesson you could give me on the basics of how to work on a ZB. When I've got some time this summer I'll give you a couple of weeks notice and I'll run up there get a lesson, catch some wahoo, or tuna at my friends place in Hattaras and bring you back some nice tuna, or wahoo steaks. That is, if my friend and I can afford gas for his boat.

You probably come pretty close to Kenansville on your way to Hattaras. I would guess that you would go up on hwy 17. I am only about 45 miles from 17 at Wilmington. Give me as much notice as you can. I plan to have surgery on a hernia in late July and have Alaskan cruise in Aug but I am sure we can work some time out that would ok with us both.

The jacket was a one-off I had done in the Uk back
in the '80's, can't even remember who did it for
me and is is actually embroided not printed, I'll
make some enquiries when I get back to the UK in
two weeks.

So I show up to my gig last night in Berkeley Ca and as I'm wheeling in my 69/70 D-10 ZB in my Hatton split case I look up at the stage and what do I see? Another 1968 ZB D-10 with the exact same color (red/natural) as mine! I was pleased to meet and hear fellow forumite and ZB nut Bill McKenna! Great job Bill. Nice to meet you! The number of bay area zb pickers seems to be growing.

What are the odds of two D10 ZBs the same color and about a year apart being in the bar on the same night.. pretty big odds I'm guessing!
They were Matching down to the Hatton Split cases!
You sounded great BTW. Wish I could play like that
