My Hilton pedal has the wart hardwired and the power cord is stiff. I recently noticed that the insulation on the cord is broken where it goes through the grommet at the pedal. My question is: if I take it apart to get to where I can correct the problem, is there anything I need to know before I attempt it. The reason I'm asking is that in my young and adventuring years, I took a Holly four barrel apart to install a kit - bad mistake.

Any suggetions will be greatly appreciated and RESPECTED.

Ol' Fred

Fred, I had the same situation with my pedal.

Completely unscrew the black grommet nut -- and then gently push the chord into the pedal a quarter-inch or so, making sure the part with the split insulation goes all the way into the hole. Then tighten up that nut by hand.

I have to do this about once a year, but it's no problem.
