Please Identify this Sho-Bud?
Can anyone help me identify this Sho~Bud?
I have the chance to buy it. It has 3 pedals and 3 knees, ten strings. I want to know what you guys think the value is. Is it a maverick with extra knee pedals added? Thanks.

It doesn't say "Pro 1" because it's a 6139 which only has the one knee lever. That was the designation in those years. It's the same as the Pro 1 without the decal. It's not hard to upgrade it at anytime. If you can get it for 1k, you'll be getting a pretty good deal.
How much is he asking for it?

That's an early square front, about 1975. It has wide pedals and the older pickup with the screws underneath. The dustcatcher fretboard is standard for this time period, and is more than likely original. I had a 6139 identical to this one except for the pickup and colour. Mine was blonde.
This guitar, as RC said, would be a steal at $1,000. I paid $1,600 for my 3+2 6139 about two years ago, and it was worth every penny. On Ebay, that guitar would go for between $1,200 and $1,500, maybe more.

I paid $1700 for mine less than a year ago and wouldn't part with it for the same money today. Of course mine has 4 knees and that does increase it's value somewhat.

Well, I was too late. It already sold by the time I saw it advertised. Guy was asking $950.00. He listed it last night it was gone this morning.
I will say the pedal steel is rare to find for sale privately other than this board, and when I do see them, they are scooped up quick.
This guy obviously priced it to sell quick. I wasn't going to jump on it unless I did my research first. Oh well, I am sure there will be more opportunities to come along.
Thanks for the advice.

Well, that's too bad. $950 is a steal for that guitar. Someone got a good deal. One thing I've learned with Sho~Buds is that you'd better grab 'em at prices like that because chances are someone else is looking too.
I'd say you'll see that guitar on Ebay soon, going for way more.

Not to rub salt in a wound but I agree whole heartedly. I recently scored a wonderful Rack and Barrels Blondie for $650.Chris LeDrew wrote:One thing I've learned with Sho~Buds is that you'd better grab 'em at prices like that because chances are someone else is looking too.

I'll buy every nice Pro 1 I can find for $950 if only for resale if nothing else.

Ya, it's worth throwing on your credit card if you can, enjoying it for a while, then flipping it.
