As I understand it, he quit while he was big because he wanted to go home to raise his kids more than he wanted to be a star. |

He had a pretty nice house band too.
I did sound for Odetta in NYC,
and she hit on me.
I told her to I KNEW she had a big voice
and to not just blast on the mic until
I could get the compressor trimmed.
She agreed and started singing as she rose
from her seat! She needed no mic....
Later opera singer Kathleen Battle sang
and even with a mic I could hardly get her
a good level. Go figure, the blues gospel lady
can out sing the trained opera star.
Is that Jimmy Bryant on guitar here? Pretty jazzy playing.

David,
I can't tell if that's Jimmy Bryant, but it's a great cut.
I'm envious. With my luck, it would have been Star Jones. _________________ Steel crazy after all these years.
