Ron,
My wife and I drove over for the show from Bossier City, LA. Great show. Every one of the guys who performed were my favorite steel player.

Nicer folks Iv'e never met! Better players and bands Iv'e never heard. This was musically the best shows I've ever seen! Great facility! Everyone was a pro. I saw players I hadn't seen since I was a player in the Dallas area in the 60's. Just can't say how wonderful everything was.
Herb,Ralph,Junior, kept me laughing and all played great. But most of all, the backup mucians were beyond beliefe incredible, great,Thank you everyone!!!!!

Thank you Ron.
Charles Tilley has been in touch with me and explained why Dean was not at the Benefit.
A few years ago when Dean found out through the Steel Guitar Forum that I was a "Thumbstyle" steel player he started sending me some of Bobby Garrett's music. He also phones periodically to chat about steel guitar and has given me a wealth of information on Bobby and the early days when they were growing up together.
I have had Bobby's "Thumbs Up" album for a long while and that really got me going.
Later BobbeSeymore scared me half to death
when he played for me in Nashville in 1996
while at the Chet Atkins convention.
I hope at some future time I will be able to participate in some way to honor the legacy
of Bobby Garrett, a truly great exponent of the Merle Travis technique.
Things are fine here on Canada's east coast but the signs of approaching winter are very much in the air.

Bobbe
In times of drought and when no outdoor concerts are scheduled, it's usually as dry as my ex-wife's... uh... sense of humor . Typically, what we do here to break a severe dry spell is to commit tons of money into a huge outdoor concert. Invariably, a downpour ensues.
