Aloha All,
Here is a picture of the new 6 tuning lap steel that I have been working on so long. It was taken on the 13th, and I put final coat of clear on today. All that is left, is the tuning indicator window, and assembly. BTW, the "Slim Belly" PU is red hot.
Later,

Aloha Rick,
Thanks a load for taking care of these pictures, I don't know what is wrong but I cannot upload pics onto the forum. Any question about the mechanism, or anything else, let me know.
BTW, the cam does have provision for 48 variations, but we chose 6 to start with.
hi to low;
1.D, E, C, A, G, E, C, A
2. F
3. C# C#
4. F D
5. D B
6.E F D Bb
Just one set of variations, more to come not based on C6.
Mahalo,
Phil |

Aloha all,
Let's see if I can fix this chart;
1. D E C A G E C A
2. D E C Bb G# E C Bb
3. D F C A G E C A
4. D E C# A G E C A
5. D F D A G E C A
6. D E D B g e C A
Now let's see if that works.
Mahalo,

Aloha all,
Well one more day, and the new guitar will be completed. The last pics were just a ststic picture, without all of the strings, and being hard wired. I think a couple of hours will do it, and BTW, what is the best way to let everyone hear how it sounds, U tube or what?
At least there will be some new pictures, with the inside of the tuning changer.
Mahalo for all of the interest,
Phil
P.S. There is still a tiger in the grain of the walnut body, I will try to show it. |

Aloha all,
Well she is finished, not too happy with the finish but all in all ok. The tuning variations are as listed, but not finalized as of now, but they are nice.
Thanks for all of the comments, and help, could not have done it otherwise.
If more pics or info needed, email me or reply here.
Again, thanks, Phil |

Because of the limits of string stretch I don't know if you can put an E or an A tuning on there (low bass)?? Both of those are quite handy.
Sorry I missed seeing your guitar at Winchester.
Yer old pal,
