Another Big Band gem from Kay.

Quote:
Here is one that goes the Big Band way..."I'm Gettin' Sentimental Over You", the signature tune of the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra. First recorded 1935 with Tommy Dorsey playing the lead on trombone and, coming to think of it, that is why I found it a good match for steel guitar.

Subsequently sung and played by many: Ella Fitzgerald, Count Basie, Frank Sinatra, more recently Barry Manilow, and many others. They don't write tunes like these anymore.....

West Coast steel guitar C6th tuning, key of F.

Very well done. That's not a real easy song to play and do it justice.

Coincidence? I just recorded this tune in my new big band CD, always loved it, never thought I'd record it, but now I have with the Nashville "Very Large Band".

Glad to see this fine player do this great tune, now do, "Here Comes That Rainy Day"? Or have you?

Used my Bigsbys because of the big soft jazz tone these guitars exude.
Should be out in 8 weeks.
