D.Y.'s new guy is young, with black hair. Anybody know who it is?

But on the Buck album it's Josh Grange. I'll be seeing him in a couple of weeks at the Infocomm show in Vegas. I will come back with a report. Laughing

My name was in the hat for some Dwight gigs and I was told he hired Doug Pettibone. Dwight was looking for an all around utility cat. I believe he found one. Doug is a killer musician. Of course that's not saying he's who you saw, but maybe.

Josh Grange is doing some of the gigs when he's got time off from KD Lang. Anthony Crawford did the Tonight Show with him last week, and I'm doing some of them, on keys and steel.
Dwight's pretty much only doing a handful of one-off's this year.

What pretty much everyone said.

Josh did the last tour...sent me emails from the road. He had a Fender Steel with him and I was tech-by-wire.

Skip, good to hear you're back doing stuff on steel! I love your keyboard work but I was just listening to a Chris Hillman show from the 70's where you played steel as well as keys(coincidentally, I logged on this morning to send you a PM about it), and there is no one better at pulling off Sneaky-style playing and sounds IMO!

Mickey...
Anthony plays a little steel. To be more specific about it, he basically only played steel at the Tonight Show, so it was just one tune. Both Josh and myself were out of town that day, so Anthony got drafted, so to speak.
And yeah...Ant's a really cool guitar player and an awesome singer. He was on the tour in 1996, when he filled the utility slot playing acoustic rhythm, harmony vocals and some additional keyboard parts. The last few years he's been touring with Neil Young.

Anthony grew up in Mountain Brook AL...and I in Hoover. We became friends as kids. Anthony was always the one that stayed home and played his guitar...We recorded some stuff from time to time. I ran into him at a Tampa show back about 7 years ago.and off and on through the years...Next time you see him, ask him about me letting him fly a King-Air one day out of Nashville...
