Here's a shot of Billy as he looks today. It was taken when I was in SoCal in Oct. of '05. Billy was playing with Sammy Masters at the time on a Sierra which had a 12 string neck on the outside and a 10 string on the inside........JH in Va.

Jason, thanks for catching my miss-cue, it was in Oct. of 2005. The others in the photo are Monte Paul (drummer) in the blue shirt, Sammy Masters in the red one, me in black, and good ol' Carl Walden in the checkered shirt and strange hat. Carl plays lead guitar with Sammy but he's also a fine steel guitarist.......JH in Va.

Hey Herb, that was great and always liked that tune. How did they get such a good mix back in those days with what looks like just one mike center stage? I've always wandered that.

Funny thing about memories... you can't forget 'em!.  I remember Carl Walden as a long-haired hippie-type playing guitar, steel and harmonica on Cal Worthington's WEEKNIGHT show, "Country Music Time," from 10pm to 10:30 on Channel 13 (KCOP). Norman Whistler on fiddle was the bandleader, and I think Sammy was the MC. Jerry, correct me if I'm wrong... this is around '63-64.
And then there's the story about what happened to Carl and Boomer Castleman in front of RCA studios on Sunset Blvd., but I'll leave that for Boomer or Carl to discuss!!

Herb, I believe you're right about that one. I remember that Carl was the first "country" musician I ever heard do a Beatle tune and it was on KCOP. The song was "I Saw Her Standing There". I'd like to hear that story about Boomer & Carl......JH in Va.

Yes, he does. 
In only a related matter, the great Jerry Wallace (NOT the pickup maker) passed away recently.  We in SoCal would play behind Jerry frequently.
(He was booked by Annie Maloney who handled other several artists. I think his manager was Al Minto.)
Anyone here worked with Cody Bearpaw? There's a blast from the past.
