Hello
I just finished listen to an old LP that I got called"The Country Gentlemen". Not the blugrass band with the same name.It has Clyde Mattocks on steel.A very good band, one side instrumental, the other side vocals. The label is Casar out of Greensboro,N.C.
I would like to know if anybody out there can give some info about this for me,unknown, but very good player. Is he still active, forum member? It is always nice to read more about people I know very little about. The LP looks like it can be from the 60`s-70`s.
PS-If you got a nice copy of this LP,and no longer care for vinyl,I am interested in buying it!
Hope to hear from you.
Regards,Egil.

Hi
Thanks for the nice photos. The small picture on the LP cover don`t tell me if it`s him, there are probably many years between the pictures,so the LP show a fairly younger Clyde, but since the pictures seems to be from a club in N.C.,I guess it`s him.
Anybody else who can tell more about him today??
Regards,Egil.

Clyde is a member of the forum, just put out an excellent cd titled "Over my shoulder" that is a killer! Still a great gentlemen, wonderful player - plays lead guitar, dobro, steel of course, banjo, and even a little fiddle, plus sings some lead and writes songs! I understand why so little talent was left for me!!

Hi
Clyde got in touch with me,and sent me a nice email, and some info.At the moment I got the LP,my mind did`nt really connect well, but when I read some of your answers, and the info I got,I sure remember seeing his name, and reading about him and his recordings. As I went to their homepage,I discovered that the music, and CD`s they have, are just my style, and the music I love,so will of course get their music.Clyde should send me some stuff.
So thanks to you all for helping out-it put me in touch with a great steel player, and a great guy!
Regards,Egil.
