Hello Pete,
The only known intervention that will arrest the inevitable degeneration and degradation of a man who is deep in the throes of a serious pedal steel guitar addiction and buying frenzy is the bizarre and drastic implementation of a thing called "a wife". Unfortunately, once you have started on a regular protocol of "wife", you must maintain the protocol daily with love and joy until forever.

MSA Millennium, Legend, and Studio Pro, Reese's restored Universal Direction guitar, as well as some older MSAs, several amps, new and old, and a Kemper Powerhead that I am really liking. Recently added a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored blue Rose, named the "Blue Bird" to the herd. Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic again that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also added a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks.

LMAO!!John Billings wrote:When I was married(was)! I kept switchin' cases around. "Oh, Hon! I've had this guitar for years! Look how dusty this old case is." Never let them know! They're easily confused. Well, they're easily confused if you have enough cases. So,,, buy some extra empty cases, and then fill them up.
Actually it's true. My music room is getting a bit congested and I'm not sure she'd even notice an addition at this point.

Women spend on average $75.00 for a pair of shoes. If the average amount spent on a steel guitar is $1500.00 then I'm short two steels. Twenty pairs of shoes = One steel. Most of the time shoes cannot be purchased without a "handbag". At about $25.00 each, twenty handbags = one amplifier. Contents required to fill the hanbag = new volume pedal, tone bar. picks, etc.

My Steel Guitar Collection
Guys; This being our 50th Anniversary, The lovely spouse asked what I would like to buy myself for an anniversary present; I had wanted a new steel for some time; knew this was the time to go for it. Bought a new 2007 Stageone Zum from Doug Earnst in Branson. It's a nice little guitar for me to practice on; my live GIGS are in retirement, at the moment. My old Harlin Bros. which I've owned since 1953 [ bought it new ]. took into my possession a S-10 Sierra back in the 80's; a great guitar; and a couple of years ago, I got foolish and bought a 1967 Sho~Bud; a cross-over, but a really nice looking guitar for its age. But way too heavy for me to even pick up, any more. And I own a lap top and my Sho-Bro Resonator guitar which I purchased from the man, himself, Mr Shot Jackson. Don't have room for any more.. Am I addicted?? Bernie

The only thing better than doing what you love is having someone that loves you enough to let you do it.
