I thought it was but the player on you tube did not
look like Paul.
On the Statler Bros. Utube Comedy Mark sings and
the steel is shown good.
He does a really good job.

Hey Paul,
I think Paul Franklin is on most (maybe all) of Mark's recordings. I haven't seen the video you mentioned but Slim Yamaguchi has been Mark's steel player on the road for a long time - maybe it's him in the video.

I've always thought it was Terry Crisp that did that song. Maybe Theresa can shed some light on it.

Howdy Paul Norman!
On the YouTube video link you listed it's most definitely the late, great, Mr. Hal Rugg!

Which video are you referring to? The Statler Brothers show or the production video? Also watch Mark's video "Brother Jukebox". Each one appears to have a different steel player. Question Question

Brett is always correct Smile However, in the Statler Brothers Youtube version where they feature Mark Chestnut, I still think that Hal Rugg is the steeler. Note the way his glasses set and the movement he makes with his mouth as he starts the break.

I can't view YouTube at work. I will try to remember to issue a final, binding ruling on this matter when I get home. Just don't ask what it might bind. Very Happy
