Hey Tammy, All of these guys telling you to use a Emmons setup must think Jimmy Day, Hal Rugg, Rudy Osborn and a lot of others, couldn't play very well. :D If the new guitar is a Day setup, just leave it alone and you'll be just fine. I've played both, and yes, I AM more comfortable with a Day setup! :P ----dick

Tammy it lowers your 5th 6th and 10th string a whole note.

What Marv said is right.

If you like modern country music, like Alan Jackson etc. then you will need the franklin change, maybe not now but soon.

Yes if you get a new guitar then having the franklin pedal all the way to the left then A B and C is a good idea, where this starts to be tuff is that the franklin pedal works off the A pedal, so you can see how this is a long reach going from A pedal to the 4th, and not hitting the c pedal.

So this is why I think the day is better since your A pedal is right next to the 4th pedal, and if you are trying to decide what way to go, either is fine, but to me if I had to do over again I think I would have the day, I have been playing for so long I am gun-shy to change.

Let me know how you turn out...

Hi A.J.,
I was probably around when you bought your guitar. I've been around since Noah's flood. :D :D I went from a Emmons to a Day, to a Emmons, back to a Day, with different guitars. I'm NOT changing again!! I know it's whatever you get use to.
Have a good day.-----dick

Going with the Day set up

Post by Tamara James »

*bump*

I'm staying with the Day setup because I can't spell the other one in the middle of the night. That will save me some embarrassment about spelling errors.

that's my final answer. See ya all at the Jam.

Yeah. If I bring anything, It will be the new one. I just look so GOOD sitting behind it.

I have to re-learn some stuff, but it will be SO worth it. I can play 7th cords now. Student Fender wouldn't do that. I'm haveing a difficult time getting everything in tune. It's triple the amount of tuning on the new one. Pedals one direction, levers another, but then that's preaching to the choir. I'll learn. I'm so excited about all the new notes and cords I can play. I feel like a child at Christmas. I'll try to contain myself in public. :D

Gary S., thats why all your body parts are attached, so you can't sell them.

Kenny, are you OK with the lasagna and salad? Or do we need to duck? Sorry about the brats...I like them too. The ladies do such a fine job with this. I'm just glad I get a break from my own cooking once in a while!

I got a graphic image of Mr. Steele selling body parts. Very unpleasant. I guess I could do without ONE kidney...I sure could use an L pedal and a road case for the NV112...

 The reason for the change is getting a grill there and back . Then someone to man the grill then
the cleanup etc . It did sound like a great idea though ! Sorry :\

Just a quick note for everyone, I won't be able to attend this jam. I have a lot on my plate right now so to speak, and need everyone's prayers that knows how to get a hold of God. My mother was married last summer, and her marriage is falling apart, and she has been staying with us the last week, and I'm going to have to get more of her belongings, and Lord knows what all,and the situation with my 22 year old son stealing some of my musical equipment, and pawning it,although I know where it's at,and have arragements made to get it out, between all this,my wife, and I are about at our wits end.Alot going on right now,so Lord's willing pray that things get back to normal, and we can all move forward.Hope to see everyone at the next jam. Thanks so much for your prayers at this time.
