Thanks to all the steel pickers who played a set. Excellent work. Great networking with so many great friends. For all that missed the jam Friday, missed a great experience. Great fellowship.

Many thanks to Mr Jim Cohen for such a great entertaining display of steel talent.(western swing, pop to country) His sets were excellent and he is such a great person to talk to. Every show in the country should make an attempt to hire Jim.

Best location yet for the show. Hats off to Bruce, Tommy and the crew for the great job and effort put forward to make this year's show a great success. Also a special thanks to the hotel for the great ohowplace for the show. Hope next year's show can be there as well.

Bob I will echo what you said. Tom and Bruce did a great job. The new venue is apples and oranges from where it was. I didn't get to stay long because of a gig back home here. I did, however get to stay long enough to be treated to some dual playing by Jim Cohen and the Dale Thomas Band.

Craig: I really enjoyed your set. You had a great choice of songs. I am planning on making the trip to Wisconcin next year to attend your show. Bruce always tells me how great your shows are. Take care and keep up the great picking.

I agree Bob. I sure enjoyed the show, the venue, and most of all Jim Cohen.
Jim performs songs in the best of performance, covering all styles, Great player, and a Great person.
The venue was a Motel with one of the best stages and performance rooms you could ask for. The rooms were nice and comfy beds.
All the steelers were having fun and so was the audience. I never found that button I lost.
This is a must return to for a venue, thanks Bruce and Tom 1&2 and Jerry for a great weekend.

I would like to add my thanks also. The new show place is a vast improvement from the old ballroom.

Wishin' I could have made the jam friday night but with a tight schedule and a gig friday night, I just could'nt be there.

Bob, your set was awsome. Craig, your the only steeler I know that can play, sing and chew gum at the same time! Well done!

Jim Coen blew a breath of fresh air into the ballroom with his selection of great songs along with teaming up with Dale Thomas for a Swingin'set.

Thanks to Bruce, Tom, Tommy, Jerome and my ol' pal Roger for the fine "new improved" 2008 Quad Cities Steel Guitar Show. Great Job guys!!

I'm still wondering how many "Whoppers" Mark Wayne had to buy to get the free Burger king mask.....

This was truly a good show! The people you get to know by doing these shows are the best. Roger played awesome as always even though his belly button was showing for a while. Dino, thanks for the on stage compliments. You know how to make a guy feel good!. Ron

From the viewpoint of a non-musician, I enjoyed the heck out of the Quad Cities show, and would like to thank Bruce and all the folks involved with putting it on. It was the first Quad Cities show I've attended.

Jim Cohen put on a classy and enjoyable performance, and the House Band and several others who performed with Jim really did themselves proud! And the individual performers put on their own fine sets!

Several people mentioned how they liked the venue used this year, and what an improvement it represented over other locations used previously. The sound was great, and I would heartily recommend the event to anyone who can spare a Saturday in late April next year.

I would also like to add, I thought the sound wasn't adequete, it was GREAT!!Thankx to Tommy, Tommy, Jerome, Roger, and, Jon's brother Bruce, for not only a great show, but for me, two SPECIAL FRIENDS!!

I apologize for the oversight, as other have mentioned, the backup band was awesome. Roger, Jerome, Tommy Sr. and Tommy Jr. were top of the line musicians. What a great group of guys.

Outstanding venue!! This was the best "stage sound" I have played on yet. Great work by the sound dudes! Congrats to all of the QCS kids on a great job. Keep the venue, its a warm room to play.

Just throwing my two cents in for what it is worth...Great show this year guys. We really enjoyed it and especially since we could "party" a bit and just go right upstairs. LOL....

Seriously some really great playing this year! Everyone sounded good and what can you say about Jim Cohen. Been one of my favorites for years and the TONE was incredible.

Good luck next year guys and we at CISGA will support you all we can and thanks to all of you for your support with us...

hey guys you dont know what it means just to be excepted by your pears, all you guys mean a lot to dad and i. the team came together this year and it was a lot of fun to see everyone, mengle, and do what i love to do just play.............and to get to back up such a talented bunch is my honor...
thanks to Mr. Cohan for making the trip..sittin in air ports around the country, etc. but i truly think he brought to the show somthing new and exciting ..
i saw a lot of new faces in the crowd and that is great ......thanks again to everyone who played and came to enjoy....

Bill, in responce to Marks' mask, I overheard him say he took in a accordian and threatened to play it if they didn't give him the mask. That must have been in Ia., in Wi. they would love to hear the accordian.

I want to thank all the fine people who helped organize the QC show and made it such a stellar event. I am truly honored to have been invited to play this year and thoroughly enjoyed the experience (as did my wife, Jane, despite her laryngitis). The backup band of Roger, Tommy Jr. and Jerome, supplemented by Mark Lauterwasser on keys and Larry Fountain on sax, was just stellar. I can't thank them all enough for woodshedding ahead of time on my off-the-wall songs, which allowed me to play the full range of repertoire, including pulling off a pretty darn credible live version of "Nights in White Satin". That was really fun to do, since I never get to play that live anywhere else. You guyz are the best!

The venue was excellent, as was the sound throughout the show, both onstage and off.

I was really impressed by all the fine players who participated both in the show and the jam the night before. Man, there's a lot of really good pickers out there!

Special thanks too to Dale Thomas for sitting in with me and playing twin steels. That's just so much fun, it should be illegal. Since Dale and I both lead swing bands, we know a lot of the same tunes and grooves and it just fell together really easily.

Finally, my thanks to Bruce, Jerry, Tom Sr. and everyone else who organized and helped to make this show a tremendous success. I hope to be amongst you again sometime in the future, for sure.

Jim - I really enjoyed hearing you play - neat to hear some different styles on Steel Guitar - Maybe if more would do that the steel guitar could "Live Longer" - After hearing you and Dale together I was looking around for a chain saw to adjust mine

I want to thank everyone behind the scenes---what an awesome show!! It was so enjoyable to play with the sound mixed so well, and the new stage is awesome!! The Friday jam was also a blast!! I got meet old friends and meet many new ones, too. And Jim Cohen!! You were over the top, as usual, my friend!!

I want to ditto all the previous comments about the QC Steel Guitar Show! In particular, the new location was a great move by Bruce, Tommy, Tommy, and Jerry! The hotel was certainly fine and the show room had outstanding acoustics along with a superb stage. Thoroughly enjoyed all the talented musicians and especially Jim Cohen! What a talented, nice guy! I hope we see him playing more upcoming Midwest shows.
