This song was probably written on C6 non-pedal,,,lays out very easy on that tuning. I don't write tab but I play it on my 8 string lap and my 12 string uni (and dobro too for that matter). Jeff Newman had a beautiful version of it for E9 tuning,,but it lends itself perfectly to C6 on string intervals lo-hi 6,1,3,5,6,1,3,5. Try to work it out ,,,in E.

Doug Jernigan's Emmons Guitar Company Courses are still available from the Emmons Company.

Tape 1 (C6th) has Doug's version of Panhandle Rag, A thing called Sadness, Mansion on the Hill, Steelin' the Blues, roadside Rag, bootheel Drag, Sleepwalk, and a couple of other songs on it. Doug's playing is as always great but the rhythm track isn't that good. Great songs to play along with BIAB, tho. Doug's version of "A thing called sadness" has always been one of my favorites.

This is the same course that Tom Bradshaw recommended Tape 1 & 2 but not 3 & 4. I got them all when they came out and there are some good songs on tapes 3 & 4 in my opinion. Every course gives you some good ideas on the chord construction of that C6th neck.

Jerry:

No, I don't know Kleibert Rigot. Does he live in the Medford area?

I didn't notice until now that you reside in Denver. We are getting ready to relocate there to be closer to family. We used to live there, don't know why we came out here when Denver is closer to family. Hopefully we'll be there in time for the Denver Jam. Dick & Lois Meis are great folks.

I bet you could get a good version of Pan Handle Rag from Dick. He'll tab it out for you for about $5.00 per song. His web page is www.pedalsteelguitar.net and his phone number is listed on the web page.
