Has anyone seen (or tried) these lap steels made by a German luthier?

German lap steel on eBay

I like the concept of such a compact lap steel, and the acoustic-style bridge and string-through feature are cool too IMO. A tone control would be nice though.

EDIT: Here is the website:

(I have no connection with this lap steel builder, just stumbled across the lap steel on eBay and thought it may be of interest around here. Smile)

Some nice woods but It has some fundamental problems in terms of its design aesthetics in regard to spacing and proportion.

One thing that jumps out to me is the pickup is a cheaper ceramic magnet P90 that may sound a little brittle / shrill on a walnut body.

Another thing that caught my eye is the rear view of the headstock.
I love a good wild swirly grain, but structurally it can be a bad idea for thin headstocks, there is just too much grain runout.
