My question:
I am using a TT single coil pickup through a Hilton Pedal to a NV400 with Ken Fox’s mod. I like the tone I am getting overall but the one area I want to improve would be the balance between highs and lows – in other words when I adjust the tone controls to give me the tone and string separation I want on the low notes it’s too “shrill” and I end up compromising to get the high notes sounding right. According to everything I’ve read on the Black Box it seems to me it’s just what I need to address the “tone balance” issue” but I wanted to put this out there and ask to be more certain that my thoughts are on target. I wish I could go with a Revelation or Tonic preamp but right now finances won’t permit it and The Black Box is looking like the way to go.
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
