I want to thank my friends at " Lucas Oil Products, inc." who Presented " Merle Haggard " in Concert at the Fender Center for The Performing Arts & setting up the last visit for " Eddy Drake " with Merle. What a touching strength in the words that Merle gave to Eddy with deep compassion in his eyes for his friend. Eddy's words to Merle was,I'll see you again in heaven. I will leave it at this for now. > > Leo J.Eiffert,Jr. & Ron Epperson

Leo, I sent Eddy a CD of a couple of sets we did at the old "Next Time Country" in Covina around 1980 or so. He sent me a nice note in thanks for it. It was a pleasure pickin' with Eddy as he had a nice touch on the leather covered Telecaster.........JH in Va.

I've just come across this post as I was searching for artists on the Toppa label and the song 'Key to my heart' is one of my all time favorites. What a great song.

Leo, here's a shot of us at the old "Next Time Country" in Covina. It's a little fuzzy but you can make out the leather covered Tele that Eddy loved. He got a great tone out of that guitar. I think he might have had his covered before Waylon Jennings had his done the same way........JH in Va.

Hey Jerry, that's a great picture of you both. Eddy Drake was Waylon Jennings before waylon was Jennings and Eddy did have his Guitar covered before waylon. Remember Eddy toured alot and Pheonix was one of his hot spots,Mr. Luccky's. LJ
