What a great show yesterday for the monthly steel guitar meeting at Norris Family Music, Mesquite, TX. Thanks to the 'Rev' Wayne Smith for making this the most fun and enjoyable steel meeting since I moved here 9 months ago from Seattle! Not only was it the largest crowd for a meeting, but many said it was best monthly show ever.
A special thanks to the great playing of Jerry Roller and Jerry Newberry (Van Burien, Arkansas) and our own Wayne Smith. One highlight was Jerry Newberry's 8 year old grandson, Austin Stewart, who is going to be one great steel player! The band was really incredible -- Leland Green (Guitar); Ray Keller (Bass); Ken New (Drums); our Chaplain, Dean Baxter (vioin) and Hall of Famer, Bob Meyers (Clarinet).
Don't miss the August 11 show -- contact Wayne Smith for the details at wrsmyth@postoffice.swbell.net
PS Thanks Charlie and Chuck Norris for your great support by allowing us to use your music store for the meetings!!!
What a Show in Texas Sunday!

Just wanted to thank the Texas people for the warm welcome they gave us sunday. Thanks for letting Jerry and Austin be a part of your day. The crowd and the band were GREAT!!!!!!! We would like to thank Wayne Smyth for the invite and Perceline for her thoughtfulness. Thanks to the Norris family for the use of their store. It was a long trip to be made all in one day, but we always like to take Austin to play when we can. As long as he is interested in playing we will try to take him where he is invited. Hope to see you down the road. Donna
