That's right Allen ! For you first timers and beginners there is a set of predetermined songs and keys . Cold Cold Heart in D , Mansion on the Hill in C, Blue Eyes Cryin' In the Rain in E , Steel guitar rag in E and Amazing Grace in G .
The idea is to make it a bit easier for players who otherwise may be intimidated by not knowing what songs are to be played . This will be the first set of the afternoon so come early if you want to participate . We encourage everyone to be a part of the jam . So if you've been waiting . Here's your chance !
PS...Hope you can make it again Al . Looking fwd. to you helping us out at the big show !!! Rick

Happy St. Patricks day everyone ! It is indeed happy for me as My second Daughter was born on this day 23 years ago . Maybe we should have an Irish set at the Jam . Danny Boy comes to mind for one of them .
Hope to see evryone out for the 30th . Should have all the details for the 2008 celebration by then .RT

I'll post it here and send a flyer out via email to all the local players . If it is cancelled for the 30th it will move to the following Sunday ,April 6th .I will have posters available to all who want to distribute them in there area . Only a month away . Time to get the word out !BTW....Mr. Don Helms is coming !!! That's right ,the one and only Don Helms ! Can you believe it ? I'm jazzed ! Hope to see you there ! RT

212 east of I77 was still closed this afternoon when I checked but the water is no longer over the road and it should be re-opening shortly .

It's on ! The jam is a go for the 30th at 1 pm . I just spoke with the St.Hwy. Patrol . They seemed confident the exit and Rt 212 would be open for access to Kickin Kountry . Thanks Mike and everyone who had been monitoring the situation for us .
Don't forget this is special for our "first timers" group . Those of you who were perhaps to intimidated to get on stage for one reason or another here's your chance . You'll be on first(smaller crowd, less nerves) and you should already have the list of songs and keys . If for some reason you dont have them and want to play email me . I'll be glad to help you with them .
Also this is the last jam before the big show . Lots of info . As well as posters to put up in your area and tickets for sale . We will be giving 2 tickets away as door prizes too ! Plan to attend and bring your friends !!!! RT

WOW ! Great turn out for the Jam . Thanks to all who showed up . Terrific players and back up musicians . And some wonderful vocalists ! The hi-light for me was the "first timers" set . They all did amazingly well ! Just to get over the stage fright would have been a major accomplishment but they did much much more than that , They PLAYED !! The most unique thing I saw was a left handed steel, and player . Never saw either one in my life . To see and watch the steel being played is a trip . Allen Coldiron , You're amazing ! BTW....Have your hands stopped shaking yet ? Well that's the last jam 'til after the big show . Hope to see everyone in New Phila April 25,26 and 27 ! We'll schedule our next one after that ! RT

If anything I should get the ugly newbee player award since I was the only guy amoung 3 other incredible women. What a kick to see women players and play steel in front of good friends. A life long dream come true. Now I need to work on the rest of the list, play the Opry, play on a hit record, play a song with Connie Smith, play the big stage in St Louis, etc, of course this would be on bass not steel. Had tons of fun playing bass for one of my favorite singers, Bev. By the way, I think she likes me!!
Thanks to Rick and the rest of the Ohio gang. Great time and looking forward to the big show in a few weeks.

A Big Thank You
I started playing 6 months ago after a 30 year absence and appreciate the opportunity to hear a wide range of players. Once again A BIG THANK YOU!
