I know it was previously announced by Bill Hankey that he couldn't put the effort this year into having the Bash because of eye surgery and his needed recovery time. A group of people led by Steve Richards,Doug Beaumier,Jimmy Roule, who contacted me months ago and wanted to keep it a secret to surprise Bill. It is great that it will continue and thanks to the club manager of the AMVETS (Dick King) in Chicopee Mass who donated the Hall it will be held the 29th of September. There are plans for a sat clinic and saturday evening jam before the Sunday show. This is a large hall with a big stage and the club is noted for it's catering to Country music. There should be a large crowd and many local greats of the steel Guitar to entertain them.So far there are great commitments who will be announced in the near future..This has always been a great time and show hopefully all who have participated before and new players will sign up...for Any additional information contact Doug Beaumier at doug@valinet.com or your truly at jcaseyshaefer@aol.com

Joe,
Count me in..I just got the O.K. from My CIC. Her mother lives nearby in Easthampton...just down from Dougs Dig. I did the 1986 Mass Bash at the Hindale Home Club and it was a real good time. I visited with Bill back in March when my Mom passed away. He IS MR Steel Guitar in New England. What a tribute to Bill for Doug and Jimmy jump starting this thing. I wiil be glad to share what talents that I have for this occation. Thanks Joe

Sammy either show shouldn't interfere with each other. In fact if I come up the week before I'll attend yours. I would also like to add that Steve Richards is the main man this year ,It was his Idea to do this one for Bill and hopefully next year Bill will be back doing his labor of Love.

I am very pleased to learn that friends of The Steel Guitar Bash have picked up the ball, and are making plans for the 20th year celebration. I wish to extend my most heartfelt appreciation for their efforts.

We have some great players lined up for Sept. 29... Smiley Roberts, Jim Cohen, Mike Idhe, Dave Van Allen, and local favorites Sam Gibson, Jimmy Roule, Pete Adams and um... Doug Beaumier. Things are shaping up nicely, although there are still a few details to work out. I'll post an announcement with a full list of players, times, and directions within a week or two.

Hey Joe Casey that would be great to have you at our Steel show. Jerry Fessenden' Sam Gibson, Mike Idhe, and Doug came for his first time last year and the other three came evey year.We have about 16 to 22 steel players from the north east come and play or just listen.I play last that way the crowd does'nt leave until I get up to play. I'm loud and can't play for Beans.
