Uptempo Picking
This is hard for me to do since I'm not a speed picker. I use this to practice with since it reminds me of a lot of stuff I heard growing up listening to older country.

Jim, Doug would make me look like I'm playing ballads at my fastest, but as I said I force myself to play this track starting out slow then working up to faster trying to keep the emphisis on clean.
Andy, I don't have any tab for this as I kinda made it up from stuff I've heard for years, but if your interested I could send you something.
Thanks for the replies

Therein lies the secret. Play as fast as you can, making sure that you are playing clean and your phrasing is correct. Then push it a little faster until you can play clean at that speed. Just keep doing it. A few months down the road, you will say to yourself..... I couldn't believe this was hard to do. It just takes a lot of sitting on your butt.
