ROGER WALLACE GIVES AUSTIN THE LOWDOWN WITH WATERLOO RECORDS IN-STORE AND RELEASE PARTY JAMBOREE AT THE CONTINENTAL CLUB
Lone Star Records artist ROGER WALLACE celebrates the release of his label debut, THE LOWDOWN, with two special Austin appearances. On FRIDAY, JUNE 7, Wallace and his band will play an in-store show at WATERLOO RECORDS at 5 PM, after which Wallace will sign copies of The Lowdown for buyers. On MONDAY, JUNE 10, Wallace and his band will be joined at THE CONTINENTAL CLUB by some friends and special guests for an all-star jamboree, starting at 10 PM, saluting the release, The Lowdown. Slated to appear are Marti Brom, The Lowells, Shaun Young, Teri Joyce, Susanna Van Tassel, Mike Barfield, Dee Lannon, The Casey Sisters, Karen Poston, Justin Trevino and others to be announced.
The Lowdown, Wallace’s third album, finds the singer and songwriter striking a perfect balance between rural authenticity and a cosmopolitan country sound, recalling the days of Nashville’s creative golden age circa 1960 yet making revelatory contemporary country for the 21st Century. Co-produced by Derek O’Brien, the album features such guests as Toni Price — who duets with Wallace on the first single, “Blow Wind Blow” — and musical contributions from some of Austin’s finest musicians. Once again, as CD Now observed, Wallace “not only sets a standard for neo-traditional or retro nouveau country, yet also succeeds in creating timeless music.”
