I thought this would be an easy task after I loaded a bunch of CDs to iTunes.
I tried 'Backup' but this gives you the option to go to CDs or DVDs. I tried 'export' and I can only get 'Music.txt" to come up, and even it doesn't want to go to MY Book HD.
I think its probably just me learning to get around on this new Mac.
Thanks in advance, Bruce

Bruce, drag your iTunes folder to the external hard drive in the Finder.

Cal, I noticed your screen shot is from a MAC.. I use windows.. while I can back up the "my music " files from my docs... to my external HD, I can't seem to back up my ITunes library.. only text link and a resourses file that I found while looking around in the files.. but it is not the actual music library..any ideas? Thnx

Bo, on my Windoze comp the iTunes folder is in my Music folder, just like on a Mac. I've never tried it, but I'd think you could drag it over to the external HD, too. Maybe you have a different location specified for your iTunes library. You can check that in iTunes Preferences/Advanced, but the default is your Music folder.
