I saw him 2 or 3 years ago and he didn't. He played mostly non-country stuff. He still sang great but we were disappointed.

He opened for George Strait at Foxwoods last April and he did not have a steel player.

I saw him in Branson and remembered too late how bad his song selection was the last two times I saw him. Did very few of his hits that I liked, no steel, and seems like he has decided in this time in his life to become a rock and roll star. Anyway, I made a note to myself - don't go to see him again.

"Don't You Ever Get Tired" was a comp of Buddy Emmons, Hal Rugg, and Sonny Garrish, all overlayed and mixed together.

Ronnie was always one of my favorite country singers, but when he stopped doing country, he stopped being one of my favorites. I recorded several albums with his cousin from Robbinsville, NC. I wish he'd do a country CD, like the stuff he did in the 70's.

Last year in Dallas when Paul Franklin was there, he had told me that he had just finished a two or three day session with Ronnie Milsap.
I haven't figured it out yet; some of these singers bring a steel player for the session, but out on the road, they don't bring one with them.
Can someone tell me bout' that?
