I agree with Tom Bradshaw's assessment that the current "MSA Resolution" notice on this Forum will only reach a small fraction of its intended target audience. I have urged Dave Horner et. al. to also advertise in the PSGA Newsletter, the Australian SGA newsletter, etc., but I have yet to see a printed ad.
We tend to think that the whole world of steel players is watching the Steel Guitar Forum. That simply isn't true. Most steel players are not online, and probably fewer that 1,000 visit the Forum in any given month. Tom figures there are about 25,000 steel players in the world. It's not an easy audience to reach.
Several vendors have very large mailing lists. A mailing to Jeff Newman's or Frenchy's list (or Tom Bradshaw's - fat chance!) would have greater saturation in the steel community than the notice here has had. I'm somewhat disappointed that no printed version of the notice has been seen yet, with the deadline fast approaching.

Jim Molberg is not trying to ruin anyones reputation nor has he. A person ruins his own! Or builds a great one,the choice is their hands. I'm not defending or accusing anyone of anything here , just pointing out some facts.

if the new msa is really serious about locating those who lost deposits or never received guitars from the old msa, i would think they would welcome any and all help in locating those folks.
i do not understand why they have not taken the trouble to contact the other major steel sites about this, or even to see if any of the various steel guitar newsletters would donate some space for even a 1/4 page ad.
still, i'm giving them the benefit of the doubt, and hoping they will choose to walk the righteous path when the time comes, and do right by the 'victims' who were left holding the bag all those years ago.
compassion for those folks, and encouragement and support for the new msa doing the right thing.
that's what i say.

To Rick Garrett: When voicing the truth as Tom did, there is no “fine line.” In fact, there is not even a line, unless it is between right and wrong. Tom drew that one and it appears to have led to acknowledgment for the offenders. Frankly, I think you meant this with your reply.
To Wayne Brown: Of all the respondents, you need to read my referenced web site address the most. You apparently feel as the misguided attorney does: If you aren't a victim, you shouldn't defend a victim (contrary to his very profession). However, a recent post of yours seems to even contradict your position. When Buddy Cage had all his equipment stolen, you offered to send him a free pak-a-seat. When it has been shown and now admitted to, that a bunch of your fellow steel players had their deposits stolen, why didn't you volunteer to contribute money to a fund to compensate them? I think it is because you apparently like Buddy Cage, but don't know or have personal feelings for the victims I identified (or who mentioned it in their own Forum postings). I don't see a difference; a victim is a victim. But you apparently don't care, unless they are your heroes. Like the attorney, you also need to look up the definition of vendetta. And if you are not interested in seeing your fellow players get compensated for their losses, then don't open a thread with my name on it. And while you're at it, and to be consistent, take back your offer to Buddy Cage.
To Erv Niehaus: SPAM is unsolicited e-mail designed to sell something to someone who has shown no interest in it. And as Bob Lee has previously stated, you have a delete button. Why don't you simply learn to use it. However, by listing your e-mail address you are advertising that you want information relating to the steel (see Jim Smith's entry. He is correct). If you don't want to get information about the steel and its players, don't list your email address, as well as read any post on the Forum. And by the way, I'm quite happy with my life. I've seen some unscrupulous people acknowledge their past misbehavior and make some offer (although undefined) to make amends. Depending on the outcome, I may even be happier. And
To Bob Hoffnar: My reply to Erv Niehaus applies to you too. Don't list your e-mail address if you don't want to be contacted about steel-related issues. If you can't handle the truth about one of your idols, don't open anything with my name on it.
To Kenny Davis: Ricki Lake and Jerry Springer flaunt, glorify, wallow in and laugh at human failings, degradation and immorality. The Forum and its posters have been instrumental in righting wrongs and educating its membership to avoid being victimized.
Jon: I respect your point of view and you are welcome to it. I do believe that you failed to see that my second post was simply one of responding in kind. Granted, my sarcasm was biting, but my post only said, "Check this out." For that, several respondents went after me with vitriolic ferver:
"jim did you loose money yourself...if not give it a rest would ya..."
"...and stop using this forum for your own personal vendetta..."
"...I'm tired of opening a thread only to read you whinning again..."
"Molberg: Did you give up on the spam e-mails? Why don't you get a life!"
"...is there some way that I can get involved and sue you?"
"Maybe we should have a new forum... and maybe we can get Ricki Lake or Jerry Springer to moderate it!"
And Jon, you acknowledged, "The first post of this thread is perfectly in order." Read it again. All I said was "Check this out." I didn't do any editorializing. So what did I say to prompt this verbal flaming? I only chose to defend myself, and now you condemn me for it. It doesn't make sense.
I get the message - saying anything that some Forumites don't like to hear is whining.

Mr. Molberg,
First off, I have never met or heard of Buddy Cage before this incident. I had to ask a fellow steel player who he was. Mr. Cage's unfortunate incident, was the result of some lowlife physically steeling his livelihood. My offer to Mr. Cage stands and has already been shipped, and I would appreciate it you would leave Mr. Cage out of this completely.
Secondly, I have heard of Mr. Anderson and his alleged dealings, which is basically none of my business as you claimed this happened about 20 years ago. I am just tired of your spammed emails and your insepid whinning. If you must be a champion, then please do it with some dignity and professionalism and decorum.

Unlike several other people's claims, I am truly an impartial observer. I have no claim on either side, I know nobody on either side, I have no stake in the outcome, and my interest is only as a human being and as a picker. I read one post and I lean one way, I read another post and I lean the other. I have access only to the facts that are published--not nearly enough to arbitrate this issue, even though everybody seems to be playing this for a public verdict.
I can only assume that the aggrieved people with a complaint against MSA are unaware that Mr. Molberg seems to be sabotaging their efforts with his deeply obnoxious postings. Although there was a recent ruling in US Federal Court that overturned the conviction of felonious cops on the grounds of incompetent and/or corrupt legal representation, the MSA petitioners should not count on such recourse after Mr. Molberg has destroyed the credibility of their claims. Until now I read his postings as representative of those with a complaint against MSA. The first post of this thread is perfectly in order. The second postfrom Mr. Molberg convinces me that from now on I will regard him as an agent of subversion against the claim.
And, Mr. Molberg, son, I shall define what is and what is not spam in my mailbox.
