scales for C6?

Post by Terry Sneed »

Is there a course/website that shows scales in the C6th tuning, as well as short and long riffs that get you from I IV V I change? Any similar scales or licks would be appreciated.

Hi Terry, on my wesbite ( selfless promo here) is Lower Ten Blues, written in the key of E. This is an original tune written for this project.

Scales plus redundant solo's in two different positions , a strait up Blues solos and I,IV,V chord structures as well. Maybe this program will offer assistance.

The entire purpose of this project was a primer to playing Blues on the band stand.

each project includes CD with performance track, backup track, full tab, and more.

thanks

Lower ten Blues

Tony, I have your Lower Ten Blues course. I had forgotten all about it. I have so much stuff it had gotten at the bottom of one of my many stacks of steel, and dobro, and guitar courses. LOL!

Thanks for the reminder. Very helpful course by the way.

Course

I listened to the track on the website you suggested. It does not appear (to me) to have alot of pedal work? Would this course help me with a non pedal C6th tuning? (In learning the blues scale).

I am just starting my steel guitar voyage, and picked C6th, as I am interested in Country Swing, Classic Country material written before say 1960.

I also have the Cindy Cashdollar DVD's. She uses an 8 string C6th tuning in her instructional material. There is some scale discussion in these DVD's, but mostly just tabbed/shown lead examples.

There's some pretty good info here:

Or you could try this:

A little over my head for now, but very thorough.
