I'm unfortunately having to move this to help finance my wife's 50th birthday party/present (and I'm NOT kidding! ).
It was gone through and really dialed in by Jim Palenscar just before I got it. It has one of the strongest Multi-Kord pickups I've ever heard, and is great for Hawaiian, country swing or screaming David Lindley-style slide stuff. The "Boo-wah" switch is a kick. If a Fobro buys it and I can reduce the shipping cost, I will in addition to giving the Forum their percentage. It's on eBay because many of the MK players are not on the forum.
Good luck!

Thanks Donny. I really try. The one neg I have is from a foreign buyer faking a US address - eBay would not yank the feedback, but it was bound to happen someday. I probably also have more than DOUBLE my feedback just in sales - folks just don't get how eBay works, or just don't care, anymore.
Too bad it didn't get more bids. It's an amazingly smooth playing MK - Jim Palenscar just did a fantastic job on it. Well, it's still available - I'm not going to relist on eBay so please guys - someone help me out. I'm serious about the $$ going towards my wife's 50th birthday (and FWIW she ran/finished the LA Marathon today!).
If anyone wants more detailed or closeup pics, let me know.
At this point, I'll consider cash and partial trades. My Gibson will be hitting the board later tonight a well -
Thanks.

This is a GREAT guitar guys - and I really need to move it. Tons of detailed pics available. I'd like to get $400 or so...and it's worth it with the work that was put into it!

I'm dropping the price way down, as I really need to sell it...and it really is just a wonderful player, especially with Jim's magic touch on it. It's far better mechanically and tonally than others I've played.
$340 plus shipping.

Thanks Ernest. Yes, it's honestly a mystery to me as well, as it's just a superb playing guitar (and like you said, even as a lap steel it would be just woderful...either sweet sounding ar a real screamer depending on your rig.

Were all Multi-kords made of pressboard?

John - I'm not sure, but of the half-dozen or so I've seen all were pressboard. Not all had the "boo-wah" switch, and the pickups seem to vary widely; this one is on the hot side and does great David Lindley lap steel-type stuff.
James - nah, she's honest about it, because she runs marathons at 50 ...and I can't catch her!

Multi-Kord---pressboard
I have 4 Multi-Kords ---I have known the Harlin Bros. since 1948. Jay Harlin was the inventor. They have all passed away now. Jay was the last one to go a few years ago.
I worked in Harlin's studio at 359 N. Illinois St. in Indianapolis as a student teacher in 1952 & 54 after taking lessons there for four yrs.
I have seen and played many Multi-Kords over the years and as of yet I have never seen one made of pressboard. Three of the ones I have are 3 piece laminated Maple, and the other is cast aluminum.
Two of my wood ones are natural finish and the construction is plainly visible. One is covered with mother of pearl, but you can see enough to tell it is solid and not pressboard.
I hope this helps --and wish you the best of luck in selling yours.
Regards,
Danny

One last bump...and it's back on eBay as well, although I'd really prefer a FoBro get it!
I dropped the bottom out of the price as I really need the cash for my wife's present...so it's now $300 plus shipping. I figure somewhere around $40 or so for shipping, and no handling charges on a forum sale - I'll the packing materials etc.
If I know you from the forum a personal check is OK...if not, money order or cashier's check is preferable. I would prefer NOT using Paypal since I'd need to give b0b his % AND my eBay fees won't go away even if I cancel it. But - if you want to use Paypal and are willing to cover fees, that's fine.
It's a sweet guitar. Thanks to all those that have shown interest.
