Hilton pedal mod?

Can these be modded to use the newer detachable wall wart? The HUGE hard wired wall wart is the only thing I don't like about mine.

The models with the attached power supply, the power unit supplies both plus and minus voltages to the electronics.

With the new detachable power supply, it only supplies one voltage and there has to be additional circuitry, internally, to "split" the voltage as both plus and minus are needed by the electronics.
