it.Jordonairs up now. Hawkshaw up now.Jack on steel middle e is "V" Crewcut. There is a tall steel real thin and dark color.Billy B on lead.A real young guy on steel.

Ernest, you have The Ganaway films. I believe they were made from about 1955 to 1957.??? I heard that a quonset building was erected in downtown Nashville to serve as a sound stage and was decorated to look like an old barn inside. These performances were referred to as "The Country Show." It was not associated with the GRAND OLE OPRY. I believe Roy Acuff & Hank Snow were 2 singers that didn't appear on these shows.

Perhaps someone else has more information about the Ganaway films.

Ray Price:

Harmony singer is Van Howard (who after forty some years has released a new CD with Pete Wade on lead guitar and Buddy Emmons on steel) The steel player is Jack 'Curly' Evins who played for Ray in and around the same time that Jimmy Day did. Jack was actually the steel player on Ray's recording of 'Invitation to the Blues' even thought it sounded a lot like Jimmy Day.

The fiddle players are Tommy Jackson (taller of the two) and Dale Potter.

Ernest Tubb:

Non-pedal steel player is Dickie Harris, Billy Byrd on lead guitar, Jack Drake (Pete's brother) on bass, and Rusty Gabbard on rhythm guitar.

Webb Pierce:

Sonny Burnette on Bigsby steel guitar (now owned and being restored by Bobbe Seymour).

Hawkshaw Hawkins:

Lead guitar player is Jackie Phelps. Steel player (who you do not see) is Bob Foster.

It's fun to watch these old videos and try to identify the players and the people in the background.

If anyone has any corrections or additions to the above please jump in.
