Dale Watson
Last night-Rodeo Bar, NYC. Dale and the guys played a three hour (!!) set of real deal country music for a packed house. These guys are REALLY GOOD! They're loose and tight at the same time, with all kinds of cool arranged stuff between guitar and steel. Great original tunes and cool versions of covers. Years of experience also are evident in Dale's good-natured handling of a still-learning-to-hold-their booze-20-something-majority crowd. If you ever get a chance to see Dale, do it!

Thanks Steve, I have 8 guys going tonight to Hill Country Barbeque to see Dale. Got seating reservations. Wonder if Johnny Knoxville will show. Probably sleeping after the 24 hr. MTV stint.
Should be a good show he always is. Was gonna go to The Rodeo but a little late for me.
I'll let you know how it was.

Thanks Mike for the tip, had everything you said, all were great. What a neat place.
Steve A., Don Pawluk was praising you for lending him an amp at the Rodeo, said he wished he could have had it last night too. He said the house amp was alittle bright, but he sounded fine anyway.
Dale was amazing, played over two hours which is amazing considering all the shots everyone in the crowd was buying the band. What a tight band, they seem to get better every time we see them and he is so gracious with his fans.
Below are a few shots from last night.

Theresa are you saying you didn't like Dale's voice or Luke Wilson's, 'cause I think Dale has an awesome Baritone. If so, you should see him live or check out his CD's, they're all great.
Regards, Craig

I have seen Dale 6-7 times and have enjoyed him everytime but once (when he had played about 30 nights in a row on the road). He and his band have been fantastic. I think he is one of the best country singers and peformers out there today.

Don't be uncomfortable. I thought it was a fair question. When musicians and singers spend their lives honing their craft, and are lightly dismissed as if their life has no meaning, I figure it's fair to look into the source of the opinion. I would choose to liston to Ricky Davis (or any other musician who worked with Dale)about Dale Watson's musical value.
