Hey fellas
I am not a amp tech for sure but I recently discovered that if I ran a cable from the send(in) of my Post EQ patch on my session 400ltd into the input of another amp, the signal from the peavey would transfer into the secondary amp. Before I try this setup at a live gig, i would like to know......
What are the pros/cons of this setup?
Will this setup damage any of the amps?
How do the ohms of the amps come into play here?
Any replies will be appreciated |

If it sounds good to you, then it's good. I would run it to the other amp's power amp input jack on the back( if the other amp is a PV). That way you would be bypassing the preamp section of the second amp. |

-As Jerry said:
If it sounds good to you, it´s good.
-This setup will not damage your amps, because send of the first and input of the second amp are not at the same line level, but both not running at powerstage levels, so that´s fine. (edited)
-The amp´s ohm question is no issue here, because you are not combining speakers AFTER the poweramp´s outputs (that´s where you have to consider the ohms) . You are combining the preamp-sections before the powerstages and every powerstage of your two amplifiers is still driving only it´s own speaker as before, hence everything is safe.
geetings...

Thanks for the info guys. I wanted to make sure so i would not be amp-less. The setup sounds pretty good bypassing the crate 212 preamp. Il have to try it out live whenever I have someone to help me pick them up . |

The post EQ send is at line level. The instrument inputs are not. Be careful not to overload your input on the 2nd amp. Use the low gain input or, better yet, use the pre EQ patch on the 2nd amp if there is one. |

Jonathan is right, of course, I was wrong!
Line Out ans Instrument In are different levels.
Still there is no hazard of frying the second amp.....
You´ll hear the signal distorted, if the level matchting is not right, way before anything malicious will happen.
Sorry for the mistake, will edit my first post.

It's a lot safer to just run OUT of the 2nd input (or on some amps the 2nd input might say low input) to the next amp like this....
