I'm currently on tour in Florida with Tommy Cash and he is booked for the subject festival on March 4 and 5.

Just wondered if anyone knew about this or had any additonal information. He is using his regular touring band for this show.

Jack

I played that gig on the 1987 festival. If I remember correctly, it was at the Hallanstadien.

I was with David Allan Coe Crying or Very sad but the rest of the bill included Emmylou, Jerry Lee, Newgrass Revival (with Bela Fleck and Sam Bush), so, overall, it was a positive experience!

Good catering, too!

Roger, sounds like a good gig. It's good that I'm not going as I'm not up to a long airline trip for me or my equipment.

We have 3 more shows with Tommy (Tonight, tomorrow night and Monday night) and we are done with touring this winter (except for 1 show with Tommy in April, in Ocala). He had a show booked for Wednesday night but he cancelled that so he could drive back to Nashville and get things in order for the Zurich trip.

Pretty well kept secret, it took a while to find but Google wouldn't be flummoxed...

Seems like the don't do Thursdays, and it also looks like we've missed most of it ..
PR dept ? Advertising Agency ? obviously not in the Swiss vocabulary..
Not even advertised on the French Steel Guitar Forum..

AFAIK with my limited language capabilities.
(I'm under instructions from the Queen to use the language bestowed upon my kindred..even the government are thinking of making it a prerequisite for British Naturalization)

Hey Jack
I did that festival in 2004 with a Canadian group
The Good Brothers and those Swiss Folks will spoil
you. The sound guys were great to work with and
wait till you eat in their dining room. The food
is to die for. You'll have a blast.

It appears that the venue has changed since 1987, but I agree about the hospitality! I was there along with fellow-Forumite Steve Fishell - he was playing with Emmylou, but I drew the 'short straw' and got David Allan Coe.

It was all great fun, though, especially watching Jerry Lee Lewis' antics (I believe it was in Zurich that he decided to 'decorate' the hessian wallpaper of his hotel room with a felt-tip pen!). Newgrass Revival were amazing (John Cowan, Bela Fleck, Sam Bush and Pat Flynn), and the whole experience was generally a happy one.

One gig was at a Festival in Bourge, France, and we shared the bill with Ray Charles!!!!

This is me on stage on one of the dates...(sorry about the jacket - the band set me up!)

To set the record straight, I am NOT working with Tommy on that show. We just tour with Tommy in Florida (and we've been busy, 14 shows between Feb 11th and Feb 28 - and all different locations).
