Is the NV112's "steel" voicing accomplished in it's preamp section, or is it also in the power amp and the speaker voicing as well?
Seems like if you ran a preamp that was good for regular guitar into the "power amp in" jack you could wind up with a pretty good six-string amp.
And if the speaker is set up for steel, wouldn't it be true that regular guitar just wouldn't use some of the speaker's range that a steel would, but the speaker could still be OK for regular guitar? |

Don the NV 112 is a very good amp for 6 string like it is. I use mine for Telecaster and also for Steel.I get a very good quality sound and has plenty volume for the places I play for both Instruments.I have tried it with A revelation tube pre-amp in power section and also like that sound, but it does real good just by itself. Thanks J.Dean |

Don,
the power amp is flat, no EQ or voicing to it. The voicing is in the preamp. I guess you could also say that some of the voicing is in the speaker choice as well.

Hi Don, I use my 112's for both steel and six string. I play a strat and a 335. The 335 is awsome thru it. Really has that bluzzzzzzie tone. ah _________________ Mullen (Black) Pre G-2 9x7, B.L. 705 PUP's, Evans SE 200 Telonics NEO 15-4, BJS Bar, Peterson Strobo Flip, Steelers Choice Seat, Folgers Coffee and Hilton Pedals.
