The CMA, just announced today, this years inductees into the Country Music Hall Of Fame.

It's Tom T Hall, Emmylou Harris, Pop Stoneman, and the Statler Brothers.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23128914/

Just over a year ago I signed the petition to get Emmylou in. Someone had posted a link here, and I'd like to think we helped.
Maybe we can help get Kieth in next year.

I think Stonewall Jackson, Billy Walker, Warner Mack, Wynn Stewart, and a few others should be considered before Keith Whitley, don't you? Sorry Leo, just my opinion.........JH in Va.

I forgot about Wynn,I can't Imagine him not being in there way before many already in...Stonewall might have a hard time unless theres a settlement that includes it from his lawsuit...Freddy Hart theres so many being overlooked that are way over due that makes the HOF selection committee a joke..But Wynn Stewart being overlooked year after year is an out right shame...

Just out of curiosity. In the title of your post, you start out with "ca.". What does this mean. My assumption is, it is the abbreviation for California. As the post has nothing to do with California, I have to assume it means something else (although I see you are from California). Just curious, that's all. I've seen it before in other posts.

By the way, how do I sign the petition? Or do I just send a message to the person in your post? I think a pysical petiton with the signatures would be more concrete than emailing messages to someone who could lose or not read the emails.

Keith deserves this honor.

Doesn't an artist have to stand out in the field of country music in order to qualify. They don't just get in because somebody thinks or thought they were good once. I see that on here so many times. There are a lot more deserving people that belong first. Wynn Stewart, The Wilburns, Jeanne Shepard, Wanda Jackson, Joe and Rose Lee Maphis, The Maddox family,Ferlin Husky, and Barbara Mandrell are a few that come to mind. Oh yeah, what about the guy that gave Keith his start, Ralph Stanley? I will admit that he was a good singer, but that and the fact that he married Lorrie Morgan, and had a drinking problem doesn't really qualify for me.

Hello Richard Sinkler,The CA is just for showing I did this in California. You can call Bonnie Hill at 1-606-8871 for the pysical petition paper work.Truly I am just reinforcing my framework in hope's for Keith's credit to his true honesty to Country Music & his name. The Legal part of The Country Music Hall of Fame to make this happen for Keith after almost 20 years of his death and is still not justifiable today, for me.Just think what the Opry could have done for Keith when he was alive, but, did they help? So,I guess it take legislation.Somebody ask David Keith the actor what happen to the life story of Keith Whitley that he was going to do.Thanks again for all of you brothers & sisters in this help with me. I remember Seeing Keith backstage at the opry when he was just a kid,and me and my buddy used to pick at him, Marty Stuart and some of the other Real Young ones who were working the opry. But I can't agree with him being jumped to the top of the list. There are a lot of the senior artists that have paid their dues and BEHAVED Themselves for many, many years and are more deserving. Sorry, if this offends you, but I think you are barking up the wrong tree.

The same thinking applies to the young guys coming out that are steelers, also. Many times I have seen on here something about how a newcomer played this neat thing and we should be dinging at Scotty and the crew to put him in the Hall next to Buddy. That place to me is for players and builders who payed their dues and advanced to the instrument. It takes a lot of paying to be in the same league as Buddy, Paul, Speedy, Jimmy D, Jimmy C, Reece,Jeff, and so forth.

No more then most people could care less about who I am or what I write. For me,at lease I'm doing something that makes me happy and I hope that I just get respect for that. I guess what i am saying LJ, is there is more to it than just playing the instrument or singing a hit. For instance, Buddy is not only a fantastic player, he has also written instructional material, helped design at least two brands of steel guitars, and played on countless hits. He has also traveled the world playing and promoting the steel guitar. To me that makes him worthy. Now me, I have played a lot backed a few artists and played and organized a couple shows. I don't not in anyway deserve such an honor. To me Keith never did anything that remarkable that he deserves to be in the hall of fame. You just can't put people in because you like them. Do that and the next thing you know Rascal Flatts will be in there.

Hello Craig A.Davidson,Do you know the real back-round about Keith Whitley's History in the Music Business? Buddy should be Inducted into the Country Music Hall Of Fame, but, they the power makers only look at him as a session player. The Music business industry has its share of dishonest to many Musicians and Artist. But again, who care what I say.I just keep doing what God tells me and I guess that's why I'm a nobody. Mr. Eiffert, sir, you can just call me Craig. I know about Keith's musical history. That's why I say he really didn't do anything out of the ordinary to deserve the honor. I do agree with you about Buddy being there as should Lloyd, Weldon, and Jimmy Day, just for helping to shape the Nashville Sound. I still think Mr. Whitley is a long ways from an induction. Maybe if he had lived and been able to keep going he might be eligible at this point. Anyway, Mr. Eiffert, I have an idea. Let's just agree to disagree and leave it at that ok?

Hello Craig,We really don't disagree about Keith. you're right he didn't live long enought and that's my point about him for what he did do in BlueGrass and with the big names he worked. The Big Career makers don't give a dame about Musicians and if it wasn't for those great Musicians those Producers and Record Companies would be nothing. So,with that said,we agree.your Forum brother.Leo J.Eiffert,Jr.
