It is Tax Time in the US and the various fraudsters in the World are busy trying to find new ways to relieve you of the burden of having money. One of the ways they hope to accomplish this task is via phishing scams targeting the IRS. Using look-alike phoney web pages, on Storm infected computers, or on parked phishing websites, they hope to steal your identities. The latest crop of these scams use the bait that the IRS owes you some dollar amount, for overpayment of last year's taxes, or for some new refund supposed enacted by a Congressional Bill. All you have to do to claim your money is click on the enclosed link and fill out the form. If you do so you will have your identity completely stolen and your bank account emptied, within minutes.

Please know that the real IRS will never contact you by email, except to reply to a contact that you may initiate. They do not offer refunds or special payments via online forms. All official business from them is conducted with actual US Post Office mail.

Also, do not fall prey to telephone scammers claiming to be from the IRS, offering refunds if you give them you direct deposit details. They will not give you money, but will take yours.

Thanks Wiz,
It's good to know that you're out there watching for this kind of thing.
I'm not especially computer savvy, and can use all the help I can get.
